Here is Lizzy who was unable to sustain much of a "power sleep" with just one days leaf collection . "I collect therefore I am"

Magnificent leaf collection. Canada calls for this to become an Ocilympic event. Afterall if beach volleyball can do it....
Suggest judging focus on 'quantity' and 'variety', with possible extra points for difficulty of retrival (e.g. large objects through small cat door). No points for formerly live objects though to avoid overlap with other potential events.
Knowing Lizzie's past form, she seems to be focusing overly on quantity. Suggest training focus on variety if she is to be in medal contention. Where are the cabbage tree fronds? Small twigs? Pebbles?
Tashi here. I like to collect things too. When I was a kitten and living outside, I liked to collect baby pine cones and little stones.
Now that I am a full time house cat I have had to find new things to collect. At first I was nervous that the Ashtons might not like it if I carried off their things, so I would make sure and put them back before they woke up. This worked out for a long time, but for some reason they started waking up in the middle of the night and they discovered the piles of items I was sorting. They were very nice about it, especially as I seemed so willing to put things away.
For a long time I was content to collect things from Girlchild's room: tiny teddy bears, doll house furniture and such. Later, I discovered a treasure trove in the classroom. The Ashtons home school their children, and so they have a lot of interesting supplies for science class. That is when I discovered my true love in life was to gather science supplies: small magnifing glasses, microscope slides, tweezers, and specimen tubes. It was great! I would carry it all to the gray chair in the living room and study until dawn. I would often get so carried away that I would forget to put things away.
I am glad to know that there are other cats that enjoy collecting things. I really wish we had some trees inside, I would like to try collecting leaves. Maybe Mrs. Ashton will bring a few inside for me sometime. I'll ask her.
I am an Ocicat, I was born on Feb 11th 2004 along with several brothers and my sister Bob (look blame Chris for that name) . Bob and I selected our "owners" by stealth and charm and came to live on 12 acres in Dairy Flat New Zealand after a brief stay at the pet shop. Unfortunately Bob, the long distance explorer managed to meet the only car for a week on our country road and died in May 2007. Bob was the big blogger having learnt to type by watching Chris. I have been trying to carry on the story.
I moved back in with my original owner in Kerikeri when she came back from a five year "holiday" in Canada.
